Improvement works

From time to time, often at weekends or public holidays, Gatwick Express has to make alterations to train services, usually for planned Improvement works.

Disruption between Clapham Junction and East Croydon / Mitcham Junction

Trains are now able to run normally between Clapham Junction and East Croydon / Mitcham Junction following a fault with the signalling system in the Streatham area earlier today.

Disruption through East Croydon

Trains are now able to run normally at East Croydon following a trespass incident earlier today.

No Gatwick Express service on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 November

Engineering work is taking place between Balham and Selhurst closing the line.

No Gatwick Express service will operate.

Customers are advised to use alternative Southern services from / to London Bridge.

Reduced London Overground service between Gospel Oak and Barking on Sunday 18 November

A reduced service will operate between Gospel Oak and Barking. Please check your journey before travelling.

Amended Gatwick Express service on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 November

Engineering work is taking place between Three Bridges and Brighton, all weekend and between Balham and Selhurst, until 06:45 on Sunday.

All weekend:

Gatwick Express services which start / terminate at Brighton will not run. This will result in a reduced Gatwick Express service between London Victoria and Gatwick Airport.

Customers may use Southern services between London Victoria / Gatwick Airport and Brighton, which are running via an alternative route.

Sunday until 06:45:

Gatwick Express services will not run until after 06:45. Customers should use Southern services between London Bridge and Gatwick Airport.

Engineering work is taking place between Purley and Three Bridges all weekend, closing various lines.

Gatwick Express will operate a half hourly train service on Saturday and Sunday.

The 22:18 Southport to Manchester Victoria service will not call at Salford Central.

The 22:19 Blackburn to Wigan Wallgate service will not call at Salford Central.

No Gatwick Express service from Sunday 23 December to until 04:00 Wednesday 2 January

Major improvement work is taking place renewing the track at Battersea Pier Junction to improve reliability around the London Victoria area.

No Gatwick Express services will run. Trains to and from Gatwick Airport will run from other central London stations including Blackfriars and London Bridge.

Alternative travel arrangements will be in place between Clapham Junction and London Victoria. All services at Clapham Junction are expected to be very busy. Please avoid Clapham Junction if possible.

Engineering work is taking place between Redhill and Gatwick Airport, closing various lines.

Great Western Railway

Trains between Reading and Gatwick Airport will terminate at, and start back from Redhill. Road transport will operate between Redhill and Gatwick Airport, with bus journeys taking approximately 25 minutes. Please allow extra time for your journey.

Gatwick Express / Southern / Thameslink

It is not yet known if Gatwick Express, Southern and / or Thameslink services will be affected by this engineering work. Please check back a bit nearer to your travel date to see if your journey will be affected.
